Zusammenfassung:A new behavioral model for analyzing the current-source charge-pump-based ballast with a self-oscillatory gate drive circuit is proposed in this paper. A detailed model derivation is presented and the model is applied to analyze a ballast system of a 16-W compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) as an illustration. The ballast of the CFL consists of a self-oscillatory driven inverter stage and charge pump circuitry. The iterative modeling technique links together the three mutual dependent parts of the system, namely: (1) the charge pump circuit; (2) the self-oscillatory gate drive; and (3) the lamp model, so that they can be designed and studied as an integrated system. It is shown that the model can give a comprehensive interpretation of the whole system and provide a reasonable prediction of the ballast behavior.
