Zusammenfassung: | This paper investigates the deployment of amplify-and-forward (AaF) repeaters to enhance slot-ALOHA based random access in a single-cell environment. Based on the concept of ldquovulnerability circlerdquo introduced by Abramson [1], we derive the probability of correct reception of a random access packet originated from any position within the cell. The derived probability enables us to analyze the impact of an AaF repeater on random access throughput within any concerned region. It is shown that an AaF repeater can improve throughput within a limited region surrounding itself at the expense of cell throughput. |
