Zusammenfassung:This paper is an preliminary investigation of an add-on to the 2.4-GHz-ISM-band of the IEC 60945. Focus is taken to the question which field strength is to be expected at the electrical equipment inside control consoles on bridges of cruise and container vessels caused by wireless LAN. Moreover the question is discussed how adequate wireless LAN is to transmit data on the bridge of vessels.
