Zusammenfassung: | In this paper we evaluate the Video transmission performance of ad hoc network with emphasis on ant colony optimization technique. Due to high mobility and rapid movement characteristics, video transmission over ad hoc networks is becoming more difficult than simple data transmission. We make a complete comparison between the prominent AODV and AntHocNet. The AntHocNet algorithm is based on the nature-inspired ant colony optimization framework. Paths are learnt by guided Monte Carlo Sampling using ant-like mobile agents communicating in a stigmergic way. We evaluate Video transmission performance of ad hoc networks by performing simulations related to delivery ratio, average end-to-end delay, jitter and packet flow analysis. Results show that AntHocNet algorithm can outperform AODV because the maximum number of video transmissions can be increased when medium access time is reduced by means of a service differentiation mechanism applied to the MAC layer. |
