Zusammenfassung:The article discusses problems of classification based on the fractal theory with applications in biology. Here are introduced the necessary notions for defining and quantitative evaluation of fractals and an algorithm for fractal dimension computation based on biofractal contours processing is also proposed/ presented. The actual application is dedicated to the analyse the particularities of some species from Gentianaceae family, with the purpose of establishing their affiliation to the Gentina genus, knowing the fact that, up to the present, there had been used only evaluations based on the distinctive morphological characteristics. The results are encouraging for the development of fractal techniques not only in botanic, but in other biology domains.
