Zusammenfassung: | This paper investigates the faults of ball bearings and their effect on both machine vibration and stator current. Bearing faults are categorized into two main groups according to the fault signature produced and appear in machine vibration and stator current. They are single-point defect and generalized roughness. Single-point defect produces one of the four predictable characteristic fault frequencies depending on which surface of the bearing contains the fault (inner race, outer race, balls, cage). While, generalized roughness produce broadband change in machine vibration and stator current. Experimental results are given for healthy bearing and when it becomes faulty to detect the effect of single-point defect and generalized roughness faults on it and on machine vibration and stator current. |
