Zusammenfassung:Summary form only given. Two-dimensional time-resolved images of thermal X-rays have been extensively used in hohlraum experiments at OMEGA and NOVA to study diagnostic hole closure, thermal X-ray burnthrough, and spatial profiles of laser entrance holes. The soft X-ray imager built for the first experiments at the National Ignition Facility had four soft X-ray channels plus a hard X-ray channel and was mated to a four strip gated imager (the FXI). This produced four soft X-ray images per strip, separated in time by 50 ps. The soft X-ray channels consist of a mirror plus a filter. The diagnostic was used to study soft X-ray burnthrough of hot hohlraum targets
