Zusammenfassung:In wireless communications, different schemes for multiple antennas may be applied in order to achieve high data rates through spatial multiplexing (SM) or reliability through spatial diversity. In this paper, we analyze the throughput achieved by SM and quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (QSTBC) using a successive interference cancellation (SIC) detector at the receiver. The structure of the feedback filter matrix R is analyzed and closed form expressions for the error probability for zero-forcing SIC detection are derived. We verify the theoretical results by numerical simulations. Furthermore, we show that SM provide a better balance between spectral efficiency and spatial diversity than QSTBC.
