Zusammenfassung:	Many think that radar is a mature field, nothing new to happen, it having been around a long time. Nothing can be further from the truth. When the field was entered in the 50's the thought was the same. The MIT radiation lab. Series was the definitive volume and there was to be nothing more. But it was wrong. Since then many amazing new developments have taken place, radar having benefiting from Moore's Law and the incorporation of new technology developments such as MMIC GaAs T/R modules and electronically steered phased array. Things are moving even faster now. In this paper, examples of some of the recent breakthroughs are given
