Zusammenfassung: | Knowledge of the electric fields that are induced inside the brain and the limbs is of importance in magnetic stimulation of the nervous system. Here, an analytical model based on the reciprocity theorem is applied to compare the induced fields in unbounded and semi-infinite media, sphere and cylinder-like prolate spheroids. Typical stimulating coil arrangements are considered, including butterfly coil and different orientations of a single coil. The results can be used to determine when the influence of the boundaries is negligible and simplified geometries can be used.< > |
