Zusammenfassung:Irrigation nozzles have discharge characteristics that enable direct water stream contact with nearby power lines. Leakage current measurements using various water streams and ground resistance measurements for some irrigation systems were made. Limited line-to-nozzle flashover tests were performed. Use of the test results and consideration of the site-specific factors will assist in the determination of the necessary safety requirements when irrigation systems operate close to power lines.
