Characterisation of artificially anisotropic surfaces using waveguide simulator techniques

Zusammenfassung: | Previous studies have investigated applications of anisotropic surfaces for antenna and scattering problems (Kildal, 1990, and Calamia et al., 1993). Knowledge of the surface impedance allows boundary value problems to be solved. The present paper shows how a numerical model of a waveguide simulator is combined with the concept of magnetic walls in order to determine the surface impedance of an anisotropic surface. The method is applied to some corrugated surfaces in order to obtain the "soft condition" equivalent to that found in acoustical scattering problems. The study is of interest for planar phased array antennas. |
