Zusammenfassung: | The operation of utility electrostatic precipitators is described, and recent technology aimed at improving performance is discussed. By considering the detailed physics of the precipitation process, the rationale for the use of pulse energization is advanced. The use of a suite of theoretical models which permits the description of the salient elements of the precipitation process in both space and time is outlined and such a modeling process ia applied to pulse energization. By this means the advantages, shortcomings, and future possibilities are examined in detail and implications for precipitator control are discussed. |
