Zusammenfassung:This paper describes how a digital computer program intended for system planning studies was used to investigate several questions related to pumped storage planning and operation. Among the items investigated were reservoir size, the influence of cycle efficiency on pumped storage capacity factor and operating cost, and the effect of load forecasting deviations on system economy. A brief description of the program is provided.
