High resolution ECG, heart rate variability and nonlinear dynamics: tools for high risk stratification

Zusammenfassung:With traditional methods one can detect only 30-40% of patients threatened by sudden cardiac death. Therefore the authors intend to investigate and apply new methods of nonlinear dynamics to improve the detection rate of high risk patients. First results of an initial investigation show, that these new methods could lead to a new classification of high risk patients. The detected abnormalities suggest a high risk in several patients who have been classified in the low risk group by traditional analysis.< >
