Zusammenfassung: | A description and comparative study of three different waveform data compression schemes are presented. All three schemes are lossless, that is, decompression results in exact recovery of the original data samples. The first technique uses linear prediction followed by residue sequence encoding. The second and third techniques use single-stage differencing followed by two different methods of encoding. The three schemes are first described. The compression ratio and CPU time required for compression and decompression are studied using an extensive set of seismic data.< > |
