Zusammenfassung: | The goal of the computer modules component of the project 'A Focus on Developing Innovative Engineers', funded by the National Science Foundation, is to develop a complete set of interactive computer modules for courses in the undergraduate chemical engineering curriculum, where each computer module reinforces one of the key course concepts. The modules are developed by a team consisting of faculty as technical advisor, an undergraduate student programmer, and a postdoctoral research fellow serving as supervisor and master programmer. After development, the modules are tested by undergraduate students at the University of Michigan and by external faculty, before general distribution. Modules for the Introduction to Chemical Engineering course have been tested and distributed, and modules are currently being tested in the Fluids/Transport, Separations, and Chemical Reactor Design courses. The modules prepared to date are outlined.< > |
