Zusammenfassung: | Environment-related businesses will keep growing as a promising industry according to government estimates, but illegal disposal is still occurring due to malignant companies dumping. In this paper, a new trend of waste management business will be considered based on an interview survey that was held between six waste management companies in Japan. These waste management businesses mainly consist of small and medium-sized companies, and it has been said that very few companies are recognized for following regulations. Most companies, which are engaged in waste management, are not necessarily thinking of business. However, according to the interview survey, it can be seen that small and medium-sized companies are making great efforts to improve the nature of the industry for the future. From these results, the improvement in reliability of the industry is expected, as well as vertical integration, alliance and M&A of these businesses based on the capital obtained by offering stock to the general public. It seems that stopping illegal disposal will be difficult unless a formidable waste management company is created. It is preferable to start networking, developing a franchise of companies, and amalgamating waste management business integration first, so that a large-scale waste management company, like the Waste Management Inc. in the United States, may appear in Japan. |
