Zusammenfassung: | ARMS was designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of patient monitoring and recordkeeping. An IBM PS/2-based controller provides automatic acquisition of digitized RS-232C physiologic signals from existing medical monitors. Rapid, standardized manual entry of patient data and pertinent events is achieved by mouse-controlled pull-down menus. This information is archived in Lotus 1-2-3 format. Effectiveness of visual information is increased by an integrated single display of cerebral perfusion/oxygenation, cardiopulmonary function, anesthetic delivery/adequacy, and neuromuscular blockade. A speech synthesizer generates specific verbal warnings or error conditions. These unambiguous auditory warnings can increase patient safety by decreasing physician response time.< > |
