ENgineering Coupled Defects for Photonic Crystal-Based Optical Delay Lines, All-Optical Switches and Waveguide Intersections

Coupling of defects in photonic crystals has been theoretically investigated. Optical delay lines, all-optical switches, and waveguide intersections can be constructed by properly engineering the coupling of defects. Optical delay lines were experimentally fabricated and tested.
