Zusammenfassung: | High data-rate wireless personal area networks such as WiMedia are ideal for enabling wireless connectivity and real-time streaming among numerous multimedia applications. However, wireless channels have higher error rates and burstier error patterns than wireline links. In this paper, we propose forward error correction protocol which includes a novel code selection scheme, and addresses two important issues in the transmission of real-time traffic on wireless channels: (1) Adaptability to channel conditions, through prompt reactions to channel variations; and (2) QoS provision, especially throughput and packet error rate. Then, we evaluate the performance of the proposed AFEC. Performance evaluation shows that the proposed technique guarantees the target PER. |
