Zusammenfassung:	The paper presents communications studies and solutions for an integrated urban traffic/public transport management system, with aspects for the particular situations in Bucharest. Fixed communications architectures along with modern technologies are analysed in the context of the city's possibilities, including GPRS and TETRA solutions. The integrated urban traffic/public transport management system comprises around 100 centralised intersections and over 300 buses, trolleybuses and trams. Specific communications needs are also analysed with quantitative/qualitative criteria.
