Laser altimetry using pseudo-noise code modulated fiber lasers and photon counting detectors

Laser altimeters using pulse code modulated fiber lasers and photon counting detectors appear to have attractive features for future airborne and space-based altimeter missions. We report some initial performance calculations and laboratory measurements using this technique.
