Pump-to-Stokes relative intensity noise (RIN) transfer in Raman fiber lasers: observations and modeling

By analogy with Raman amplifiers we explored pump-to-Stokes RIN transfer for Raman lasers. We report direct measurement of the effect and its analytical model. RIN associated with pump longitudinal mode beating deteriorates Raman laser performances.
