Zusammenfassung:There are many who feel that the ocean should only be preserved and protected. Intelligently developing our resources in harmony with the environment for the benefit of humanity is the best policy. Grazing platforms powered by ocean thermal energy conversion, located at the warmest portions of the seas to maximize efficiency, but, serendipitously, preventing the formation of hurricanes (typhoons, cyclones) and remediating global climate warming; plus, supporting the ultimate ocean ranch (energy self-sustaining next generation fish farms which feed themselves without physical boundaries) and marine biomass plantations (marine plants can convert sunlight into biomass up to fives more efficiently than terrestrial counterparts, with upwelling providing the fertilizer in free space not requiring irrigation); and serving as the centerpiece for ocean cities. Green chemicals can be produced, hydrogen fuel manufactured and utilized, and excitingly comfortable new habitats provided. New fisheries are finally being considered, floating platform technology is causing a renaissance of sorts for floating casinos and sea worlds, and marine biotechnology is beginning to actually deliver commercial products. Before we colonize the Moon and Mars, it might well be more practical and economical to consider the next frontier: the ocean around us. A more appropriate term to perhaps better describe the reality is THE BLUE EVOLUTION.
