Recoil studies of ablation in aluminium with a nanosecond copper laser

Recoil momenta created by single copper laser pulses (/spl lambda/=511nm & 578nm) of various energies (0.1/spl sim/1mJ) were studied with a ballistic pendulum to determine the fluence thresholds for nanosecond ablation regimes.
