Behavior of the PMD link coefficient of AS loose tube optical cable under mechanical and environmental effects

The mechanical and environmental effects on the PMD coefficient of a link using all-dielectric self-supported loose tube optical cable was empirically studied. Results showed that the PMD coefficient suffers a greater variation under the thermal cycle than it does under the tension load tests.
