Zusammenfassung:This paper introduces a novel approach on the design of a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor. The rotor of the designed motor is a simple combination of salient poles and NdFeB permanent magnets which are located on the cross axes of the salient poles. In the paper the main features of the design are explained. This paper also focuses on the modeling and simulation of the designed motor. The mathematical model is built in terms of natural phase variables. The magnetic field related parameters of this model are computed by a series of finite element analyses. The parameters are also measured by experiments and the results are given. Computational and experimental analysis for the sinusoidal operation is presented. The load test of the prototype is also made and the results are discussed. The results of the tests are promising.
