Zusammenfassung:The telecommunications in Indonesia is reviewed with emphasis on transmission and switching networks. It is recognized that due to the geographical configuration of Indonesia, problems are created in the field of telecommunication that require special transmission consideration. The existing Perumtel's Transmission Network and Domestic Satellite Project Palapa 1 are discussed. The future expansion programs in transmission and switching are also briefly reviewed.
