Zusammenfassung: | Fourth generation wireless networks (4G) are expected to provide ubiquitous wireless communications at high data rates and a large variety of services, as their main feature will be the interoperability and seamless roaming between wireless local area networks (W-LANs) and third generation mobile networks. This paper focuses in the system level issues of simulating a 4-G network with multiple transmit-multiple receive (MTMR) transceivers for interoperating UMTS and HIPERLAN/2 networks. User behaviour is addressed in terms of mobility and traffic characteristics. Existing user data from a GSM-GPRS operator (COSMOTE) have been used in order to extract the parameters to be used in the simulations. The most heavy traffic hotspot scenario - an airport - is analysed. |
