Zusammenfassung: | A low-cost wideband dual-polarized planar tightly coupled dipole array with wide-angle scanning ability and low cross polarization has been proposed in this letter. The mirrored pair feeding technique is proposed to increase the port spacing for feed structures and improve the cross-polarization level. A П-shaped integrated balun with five pairs of shorted vias is designed to remove the common-mode resonance. An 8 × 16 dual-polarized array prototype is designed, whose simulation results show the proposed antenna has a scanning range of ±70° from 8-16 GHz in the E-planes and ±50° from 10-16 GHz in the H-plane with 3.5 dB gain fluctuation and the cross-polarization level is lower than −50 dB at broadside. The designed prototype has been fabricated and experimentally verified. The proposed antenna has the merits of low cross polarization, wide scanning range, wide operating bandwidth, and low profile. |
