Zusammenfassung: | In Taiwan, many teachers in rural areas are frequently transferred, resulting in a lack of good care for students, extremely inconvenient transportation, and stormy, making these small schools in rural areas extremely disadvantaged. My three-year fieldwork experience on Rukai education in a remote area had made me realize the beauty and sorrow of rural education. This study used oral history as a case study, and used a CAQDAS, NVivo R. 1.5.2, to assist in the analysis. This study described DS (pseudonym), a school director who had served in ML (pseudonym) junior high school for 15 years, promoting science exhibitions in an extremely remote aboriginal junior high school, during which he won 85 awards. This small school had only three classes and eight teachers, four of whom were awarded Special Merit Teachers (including three Shiduo Award winners), a high percentage that was rare in Taiwan. This study hoped to bring more insights to the readers through DS’s narratives |
