Zusammenfassung: | The new Curriculum Guideline for 12-year National Basic Education is scheduled to be implemented in 2019, it has a New Residents Language Curriculum (NRLC) for elementary and secondary school students. NRLC offers seven Southeast Asian languages including Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Burmese, Filipino, Cambodian and Malay, in parallel with the local language (including Taiwanese Min Nan, Hakka and Aboriginal languages). Regardless of the quantity or quality of NRLC teachers, some people have expressed their worries. This article analyzes the policy of adding NRLC in elementary and secondary schools, examines the faculty supporting strategies of the Ministry of Education, discusses the problems faced, and finally proposes some suggestions |
