Zusammenfassung: | Since the first case of medication-induced esophageal injury was reported by Pemberton in 1970, many similar case reports have been published. Despite this, many physicians remain unaware of the problem. The medications that cause pill-induced esophagitis are usually prescribed for common conditions, including infection, trauma, and certain chronic disease. However, few of these develop esophageal perforation. In this case report, we present a patient with an esophageal perforation associated with amoxicillin use and discuss the potential measures for minimizing the risk of pill-induced esophagitis. |
