Epidermoid Cyst of the Testis: Radiologic-Pathologic Correlation, A case Report

Zusammenfassung: | Epidermoid cysts are rare benign tumors of the testes. We present a 17-year-old man who suffered from a righttesticular mass for one year. Physical examination confirmed a 2 cm, hard, nontender testicular mass. Sonographicfindings demonstrated a 2.0 x 1.7 cm round, well-defined intraparenchymal cystic lesion with hyperechoic wall, hypoechoic center and with “target” or “bull’s eye” picture located in the lower pole. Serum α-fetoprotein (AFP),human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) levels were normal. A right epidermoid cyst of the testis was our impressionpreoperatively, and the conservative management (enucleation with testicular preservation) was performed ratherthan orchidectomy. In addition, we review the literature and discuss the radiologic-pathologic correlation. |
