Zusammenfassung:Based on the endogenous growth theory and using data of the postgraduate certificate holders in the whole society from 1996 to 2016, this study estimates the contribution rate of postgraduate education to China’s economic growth. We find that the general contribution rate is 3. 1%. When the human capital has been monetized, the contribution rate of postgraduate education to economic growth increases to 3. 6%. China’s economic growth is mainly driven by physical capital, and the contribution rate of postgraduate education to economic growth is between 3% and 4%. There is still much room to improve the contribution of postgraduate education to economic growth. To do so, it not only needs to steadily expand the scale of postgraduate enrollment, but also needs to optimize the structure of postgraduate education
