Zusammenfassung:An extended Bohr model is proposed, incorporating Landau’s quantiza­tion, for the treatment of magnetic splittings of atomic levels at high quantum numbers. The results agree well with the splittings observed by Garton & Tomkins (1969) in the 6s2 1S0–6snp 1P01 series of BaI for values of n up to 32, and qualitatively up to n = 40.
