Zusammenfassung:To allow the acceleration of beams of metallic clusters and biomolecules up to MeV energies, modifications were made to the MP9 tandem in Orsay. An ion source and the beam injection line will be available in the terminal, a tube section of the proper design is installed in location 5. Standard tandem operation can also be used to accelerate clusters: for example, an experiment with 30 MeV C 60 fullerene ions was recently performed.
