Zusammenfassung: | The distribution of charges and the effective stopping charges of iodine ions traversing a windowless hydrogen target has been measured using the Tandem accelerator facilities at Orsay. By varying the hydrogen gas in a large range (10−2 to 120 Torr) it gives an unique opportunity to test stopping power theories for a given projectile charge state. A comparison is presented here between our results and theoretical models. The connection between extended charge and non-linear effects is stressed out. |
