A brominated secondary metabolite synthesized by the cyanobacterial symbiont of a marine sponge and accumulation of the crystalline metabolite in the sponge tissue
A study examined the sponge Dysidea herbacea and its symbiotic cyanobacterium Oscillatoria spongeliae. Results suggest that the production of a polybrominated biphenyl ether compound is due to cyanobacterium.
