Zusammenfassung:Highlights • Methylene blue (MB) is evaluated as a photodynamic agent for cancer treatment of lung adenocarcinoma xenograft and Hamster cheek pouch induced squamous cell carcinoma. • MB-PDT was performed in-vivo on lung cancer xenograft in nude mice and in the cheek pouch model. • MB-PDT induced a significant decrease of the tumour volume in the two animal models. • In the cheek pouch model, 4 out of 9 had complete response with MB-PDT. • Intratumoral MB is inexpensive and appears efficient as PDT agent.
