No evidence for an effect of traffic noise on the development of the corticosterone stress response in an urban exploiter

Highlights • We tested the impact of noise on the corticosterone stress response in nestlings. • Growth, condition and fledging success were not affected by noise exposure. • Corticosterone levels were not affected by noise exposure. • The development of the HPA axis was not affected by noise exposure. • Urban exploiters may be relatively insensitive to urban noise.
