Zusammenfassung: | We report on microwave measurements of the spectrum and the spatial intensity distribution of the eigenstates for an artificial Penrose tiling. The energy-scaling behavior of the Hamiltonian parameters in this particular system allows us to identify the main patterns that determine the first hierarchical structure of the spectrum and to provide a physical interpretation of the gap labeling. Our results apply to a general class of systems. |
