Zusammenfassung: | This book investigates institutional investors' power to promote the sustainability agenda among the companies in their portfolios. First, it considers whether they do in fact exercise their power, and explains why certain institutional investors refrain from using it. Second, it explores how institutional investors instigate changes in their target investment's corporate governance, environmental, or social practices. The role of legislation and regulation across several regions is also considered, as are cultural norms. Finally, the book provides examples of how companies can escalate their responses to institutional investors' demand for better environmental, social, and governance practives. |
