Zusammenfassung:The wetting dynamics of silicon carbide forming AlSi alloys on carbon substrates is studied by the dispensed drop technique in high vacuum by varying the parameters: alloy composition, temperature and type of carbon (vitreous carbon, pyrocarbon and pyrographite). The results on wetting are analysed in relation to those on interfacial reactivity and compared with model predictions.
