Zusammenfassung: | Samarskite from Mitchell County, N.C. Total scattered intensity per atom Ia(K) was determined and Fourier transformed, to obtain the radial distribution function RDF, which revealed the closest metal-oxygen distances (rA-O = 2.4Å and rB-O = 2.0Å). The sum of oxygen ions about an A and a B-type ion lies between 11 and 12 atoms. The RDF of metamict samarskite appears to be typical for the short range order found in truly amorphous solids.—Modified journal abstract. |
