Zusammenfassung:This aritcle focuses on how educators and service providers can respond to cultural and linguistic diversity of children with special needs in school systems. If these professionals respond to this education challenge, the result would be the reduction and hopefully the elimination of disproportionality in special education and, at the same time, the reduction of achievement and behavior gaps. In addition, this article proposes an evidence-based cultural competency training model that responds to the challenge of cultural and linguistic diversity of children with special needs.
