The aim of this text is to assess the study of the social organization of labor, both from a theoretical and an empirical point of view, in the Ibero-American geography during the first quarter of the 21st century. Based on this assessment, a second objective is proposed, to be achieved during and after the celebration of the XVII Coloquio Internacional de Geocritica, which is to build a research agenda that gives a meaning and a direction to the research on this subject from a critical conception of the discipline, considering our contexts and political commitments. This text tries to lay the foundations that can serve to initiate the dialogues leading to this end.
