Zusammenfassung:Defined as the venue for the XVI International Geocritica Colloquium in 2018, the University of Sao Paulo carried out an organizational effort that mobilized several members of its staff and professors. Scheduled for May 2020, the event was widely publicized and received 347 confirmed registrations, from eight countries. Of this total, 207 were authors who submitted 135 abstracts, of which 109 were approved for oral presentation. However, the COVID-19 pandemic led to its cancellation. At the time, the possibility of holding it in October, when the dimensions of the pandemic were still unclear, and then virtually, was considered, but the direction preferred not to adopt this alternative. The texts were released again to their authors. This work seeks to recover this moment and, in particular, analyze how the abstracts expressed relationships between climate change and water, in their multiple possibilities. There was a significant incorporation of the theme by the authors who submitted abstracts, which dealt with topics such as transboundary water, city and water, water governance, conflicts over access and use of water, water security and the Human Right to water and sanitation. Keywords: climate change; transboundary water; water security; water conflicts; water governance.
