Zusammenfassung:The present study aims to bring reflections about how public universities can be inserted in the context of social responsibility, through socially responsible management, in addition to analyzing how the legal obligation to implement the digital academic collection in Higher Education Institutions can collaborate to this end, especially when considering the changes that this initiative will bring about in the performance of the social role and administrative activities of these institutions. In addition, a case study carried out in a federal university will be approached, in order to empirically highlight how the implementation of the academic collection can collaborate with the practices of social responsibility of this Institution. The novelty of this work lies in the association between the themes of digital academic collection and social responsibility, which has not yet been addressed in the academic environment, whose results may serve as effective support material for other research.
